AIM (formerly known as OCN) Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming
25 Days in Salon Training and 5 Days Home Study AIM Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (603/0891/6). This course is formerly knows as OCN.
Designed for students who wish to become Professional Dog Groomers and get awarded with the nationally recognised AIM qualifications without taking any examinations.
- No previous dog grooming experience or Level 2 is required to enter onto this course
- You will groom approximately 50 dogs during this course
- There are NO EXAMS (either theory or practical) at the end of this course
- You will be required to complete your dog grooming portfolio throughout the course on a daily basis. This portfolio will contain all the evidence of your practical training including written notes and photographs of practice dogs
- 1:2 teacher to student ratio
- Course can be completed on either part-time or full time bases. You can do as little as 1 day per week or 6 days.

Course Length:
25 days hand on salon training grooming 2 dogs each day, plus 5 days home study
Aim:

You will become fully skilled in the preparation of various different types of coats ready for styling including bathing, brushing and drying

You will learn different grooming techniques including clipping, scissoring and hand stripping

You will have a chance to style and finish to a high standard a large variety of breeds of dogs

You will learn how to conduct Health Checking and promote and maintain the Health and Well-Being of Animals

The AIM Level 3 Qualifications Diploma in Dog Grooming is a portfolio based course / qualification. Students learn all necessary theory and practical knowledge that is required to work independently as a professional dog groomer without the need of taking exams at the end. Once the course is finished and the student portfolio completed, it is submitted for approval and certification. The portfolio contains practical and theory works of each student. The course builds up from 25 day practical salon training and 5 day home study. This course is popular with students with language difficulties and anxiety of exams. There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first.
