Become the professional dog groomer you have been aspiring to be
Choosing the right dog grooming course depends on where you are now and where you want to be. We run seven different dog grooming courses across our two London training schools in Wandsworth Common and Wimbledon Park, from a half-day taster through to combined City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 qualifications.
The lead training instructor for our courses is just one of 19 Master Groomers across the UK, so by choosing Dog Grooming Studio, you really are learning from the very best.
All of our courses are packed full of the relevant material so you leave with the necessary qualifications and experience to start your own journey as a dog groomer.

How to choose the right course?
Most people come to us in one of three positions. If you're exploring grooming as a possible career change and want to see what it's really like before committing, the half day Taster Course gives you hands-on time with a dog and the chance to ask every question you have. If you've decided you want to qualify and work in the industry, the City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 combined course is the most popular route, taking you from no experience to a fully recognised qualification. If you're already working in grooming and want a formal qualification to back up your experience, the iPET Level 3 Diploma or the City & Guilds Level 3 are the right fit.
For military service leavers, our City & Guilds Level 3 Through ELCAS course allows you to use enhanced learning credits towards your training. For students who want to qualify quickly and don't need an awarding body certificate, the D-O-G Intensive Course covers the same practical skills in a shorter format.
What every course at D-O-G Grooming Studio includes
Whichever course you choose, you'll be taught by groomers who work to a level recognised across the UK and internationally. Our Head Teacher is one of only 19 Master Groomers in the country, and the wider teaching team holds City & Guilds teaching and assessing qualifications alongside competition wins. Class sizes are kept small, with a 1:2 teacher to student ratio on our qualification courses, so you get genuine one-to-one time on every dog you groom.
Beyond the practical training, every course includes:
- Hands-on time with real client dogs across a wide range of breeds and coat types
- Basic Canine First Aid training
- Support building your own grooming portfolio
- After-course mentoring once you finish, available by phone or in person
- Flexible scheduling, with no fixed start dates and the option to train Monday through Saturday
Payment plans and pay-as-you-go options are available on all our City & Guilds, iPET and Intensive courses, so the cost of training doesn't have to be paid upfront.
Where you'll train
Both of our London training schools are fully equipped working salons, not classrooms. You'll groom real dogs from day one rather than working on models or waiting weeks before touching a coat.
- Our Wandsworth Common school is at 204 Trinity Rd, London SW17 7HP
- Our Wimbledon Park school is at 130 Arthur Rd, London SW19 8AA
Teachers rotate between the two locations, so the standard of teaching is the same whichever school you choose. Students from across South and West London train with us, including from Battersea, Clapham, Balham, Putney, Earlsfield, Tooting, Fulham, Chelsea and Barnes.
