20 Days in Salon Training iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management (603/5945/6)

This intensive dog grooming course is designed for students who wish to become professional Dog Groomers and get awarded with the nationally recognised iPET qualifications.

  • No previous dog grooming experience or Level 2 is required to enter onto this course
  • You will groom approximately 40 dogs during this course
  • No theory exam, there are 3 practical assessments to demonstrate your skill 
  • 1:2 teacher to student ratio
  • Course can be completed on either part-time or full time bases. You can do as little as 1 day per week or 6 days.
  • No strict starting dates; our courses are run all year round

Course Length:
20 days Intensive hands on salon training grooming 2 dogs each day with a teacher’s guidance side by side

Aim:

  • You will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling and nail trimming on a variety of dog breeds, using different grooming techniques
  • The qualifications covers Health and Safety in a dog grooming environment
  • You will learn how to promote the welfare of dogs conforming with relevant legislation
  • You will learn how to asses and plan dog grooming styles and maintenance of equipment
  • You will learn about canine behaviour, handling animals and about health checking
  • You will learn about canine emergency First Aid
  • You will learn how to plan the operation of small canine business
  • Candidates are continually assessed via practical demonstration and coursework. There is no requirement to sit a formal exam in order to achieve the qualification.

All teachers are the same at both location and rotate between the two schools 

The qualification is designed for Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, practice business management and gain skills in canine emergency first aid. The qualification consists of both practical and theory work. The course builds up from 20 day practical salon training. There is no theory or practical exams at the end of this course, however there will be 3 practical assessments. There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first.
