If you dream of becoming a Professional Dog Groomer and/or run your own business, as well as gaining your City & Guilds or iPET dog grooming qualifications, we have a wide range of dog grooming courses to choose from to help you achieve your goals. With nearly 20 years of dog grooming and teaching experience, we continually strive to provide the very highest standards in all of our professional training courses.
Students come to us wanting different things from their training. Some want a City & Guilds or iPET qualification to build a career on. Some want the same practical training without sitting exams. Others want a single session before committing to anything longer.
Our City & Guilds and iPET courses lead to a recognised qualification, useful for employment, insurance and setting up your own business under a regulated standard. The D-O-G Intensive Course covers the same hands-on salon training and finishes with a D-O-G Grooming Studio Certificate of Attendance instead of an awarding body qualification, for students who want the skills without sitting exams. The Half Day Taster Course is a single session in the salon with a teacher, grooming a real dog, for anyone who wants to see what the training involves before booking a longer course.
For the full breakdown of days, home study and pricing for each route, see our courses page or qualifications page.
Each day of training takes place in one of our working salons, on dogs booked in by local owners, not training models, so you're handling a real coat and a real client's expectations from early on.
Your teacher works alongside you through prepping, bathing, drying and coat work, adjusting the pace to how quickly you pick things up, not to a fixed group timetable. You build up from single grooms to full styling across the course, with feedback from your teacher at each stage, and you log progress in your course diary as you go.
