City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants (7863-02)

This is a qualification designed for people who wish to become dog grooming assistants. It can be achieved as a stand-alone qualification for students or staff wishing to gain an accredited certificate, or as a progression route to the City & Guilds Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma (7863-03). Students must be at least 16 years of age at the time of registration.

To achieve this qualification 10 days attendance at our training centre is required, plus 5 days online course material provided for home study.

You will be assessed on your knowledge, some practical work and written assignments held under exam conditions.

City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (7863-03)

This qualification is for the professional dog groomer who wishes to achieve a high level of competency in all aspects of the dog grooming industry.

Including preparing, styling, health checking and handling/moving animals within the dog grooming environment, along with customer care and business management.

The City & Guilds Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistants (7763-02) qualification is a pre-requisite. The qualification is suitable for school leavers or adults looking for a change in career, and is open to anybody aged 16 or above.

To achieve this qualification 23 days attendance at our training centre is required, plus 8 days online course material that is provided for home study.

You will be assessed on your knowledge, synoptic assignment and written theory examination.

AIM (formerly known as OCN) Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (603/0891/6)

The AIM Level 3 Qualifications Diploma in Dog Grooming is a portfolio based course / qualification. Students learn all necessary theory and practical knowledge that is required to work independently as a professional dog groomer without the need of taking exams at the end. Once the course is finished and the student portfolio completed, it is submitted for approval and certification. The portfolio contains practical and theory works of each student. The course builds up from 25 day practical salon training and 5 day home study. This course is popular with students with language difficulties and anxiety of exams. There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first.

iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management (603/5945/6

The qualification is designed for Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, practice business management and gain skills in canine emergency first aid. The qualification consists of both practical and theory work. The course builds up from 20 day practical salon training. There is no theory or practical exams at the end of this course, however there will be 3 practical assessments. There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first.
